As the winter gives way to warmer weather, Saint Pierre de Chartreuse transforms itself into a summer paradise, long famed for its great hikes, via ferrata, adventure sports and cultural attractions.

The town is perhaps busier in the summer months than it is in winter, with mountain-bikers, paragliders, hikers, climbers & cavers all enjoying the great outdoors.

The summer season starts in June and continues through to September.  The best months to visit are July, August & September when the days are long and the weather is just perfect for being outdoors.

There are serveral music festivals over the summer and sporting events such as the Coupe Rhones-Alpes (mountain-biking) and 'Coupe Icare' Festival (paragliding), both in mid September. And of course, the Tour de France which passes through Albertville & the Belledonne Massif in mid July.

Whether you choose to come and relax and take each day as it comes, or benefit from a bespoke tour for you and your group in whatever activity interests you, rest assured that we have the experience and local knowledge to guarantee you a great time in the mountains.

Villa Marie-Louise is perfectly located for you to enjoy everything that the French Alps has to offer. Get in touch if you would like to discuss your plans.
