THIS WEEK'S WEATHER
Welcome to Villa Marie-Louise. And to our charming period home in the heart of the Chartreuse massif in the village of Saint Pierre de Chartreuse, France.
The 'Parc Naturel Chartreuse' is special. It offers genuine experiences to the mountain lover - away from all the crowds - both in the winter and summer seasons. While skiing, snowboarding and ski de fond dominate the winter months, mountain bikers & hikers take to the trails in the summer. Up above, the jagged limestone cliffs provide an awesome backdrop to some of the finest via ferrata & climbing routes in Europe. Paragliding pilots enjoy some of the most consistent flying conditions in France.
The area offers unadulterated & pristine tree-line skiing and uncrowded pistes, first class ski de fond routes, and plentiful ski school facilities that are perfect for young families or novice / imtermediate skiers. Recent years have seen impressive snowfall levels.
Located at the junction of the Alps and Jura Mountains, and stretching across both Isère and Savoie, the Chartreuse massif overlooks Grenoble to the south and Chambery to the north. The iconic Chartreuse massif dominates the skyline and runs NNE to SSW along the Chambery-Grenoble valley. As the first significant range in the region to face the Atlantic systems as they pass over France, Saint Pierre de Chartreuse has a snowfall record that makes the bigger resorts blush.
Saint Pierre de Chartreuse is one of the best kept secrets in the French Alps. If you are looking for an affordable holiday in the mountains in authentic surroundings both inside & out, and whether you are travelling alone, with a family or part of a larger group, then you have come to the right place. We look forward to seeing you at Villa Marie-Loiuise.
There is detailed information about the villa and its facilities in the accommodation section, and loads of useful info relating to the skiing and winter activities.
